| Leeches…
Have you ever had a leech attach itself to any part of your body? Me neither; but I must say that similarly there are people that seem to attach themselves in other ways. Most recently I’ve had a person in my life who much like a leech thinks it their total pursuit in life (right now) to attach themselves to me at all times. Let’s just call this person, Bo-Bo (because I can’t think of a better name). Bo-Bo thinks that I like hanging around with Bo-Bo; and at first I did enjoy Bo-Bo’s company. Then, after a while, it got old.
Bo-Bo calls and emails and invites me places and tries to invite their self places where I would be. Then there have been the weak moments in which I've said “okay, you can come with me.” or I've offed invitations in which I thought any person in their right mind would surely refuse, but no, not Bo-Bo. Bo-Bo either thinks that I am Bo-Bo’s destiny or Bo-Bo’s just really desperate right now. Maybe Bo-Bo’s desperation is spurred on by loneliness, in which I truly do feel some obligation to reach out and offer Christ’s love to, but I don’t know; the whole situation is just so surreal. It’s WEIRD, to put it more bluntly.
Anyway, I’m trying to be nice and courteous and really seek God’s will in this whole situation, but I hate to be rude; I do like Bo-Bo. As a friend wrote in his blog earlier, “It’s better to be good than nice.” I guess that’s my word for the day. I am now setting forth to be good and not necessarily nice in this situation. Pray for me and pray that there will be no hurt feelings and that we can all just get along. | | |
